Statement of Faith
Scripture
We believe that the Bible, consisting of the Old and New Testaments, is the inspired, inerrant,
and sufficient Word of God. It is the final authority in all matters of faith and practice, revealing
God’s character, His redemptive purposes, and His will for mankind.
The Triune God
We believe there is one true and living God, eternally existing in three Persons, Father, Son, and
Holy Spirit, equal in power and glory. God is sovereign over all things and works all things
according to the counsel of His will for His own glory.
Creation and Mankind
We believe God created all things out of nothing through His Word and created mankind in His
image to know, love, and reflect Him. Through Adam’s fall, all mankind is now sinful by nature
and choice, alienated from God, totally depraved, and unable to save itself.
Jesus Christ
We believe that Jesus Christ is truly God and truly man, conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of
the virgin Mary. He lived a sinless life, died on the cross as a substitute for sinners, rose bodily
from the dead, ascended into heaven, and now reigns as Lord and Mediator.
Salvation
We believe salvation is entirely the work of God’s grace. Out of His love, God elects and saves
sinners through the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ. This salvation is received
through repentance and faith alone, not by works, so that no one may boast. Those who are
united to Christ are justified, forgiven, and counted righteous before God.
The Holy Spirit
We believe the Holy Spirit brings new life to spiritually dead sinners, granting repentance and
faith, indwelling believers, and progressively conforming them to the image of Christ. The Spirit
empowers believers for holy living, love for others, and faithful witness to a lost world.
The Church
We believe the universal Church consists of all who are united to Christ by faith. God calls
believers to gather in local churches for worship, teaching, fellowship, prayer, and mission. The
Church is entrusted with proclaiming the gospel and making disciples among all nations.
The Gospel
We believe the gospel is the good news of Jesus Christ. The one and only holy God created us to
know and glorify Him, but we have sinned against Him and are under His just judgment. The
law shows us our guilt before God and our need for a Savior. In His great love, God sent His
Son, Jesus Christ, who lived a perfectly righteous life, free from sin, and died on the cross as a
substitute for sinners, bearing the penalty for sin and satisfying God’s righteous wrath. He was
buried and on the third day rose bodily from the dead, securing victory over sin, death, and
Satan.
Salvation is offered freely by God’s grace and is received through repentance and faith in Jesus
Christ alone. All who turn from their sin and trust in Him are forgiven, justified, and reconciled
to God, receiving eternal life. This gospel is the power of God for salvation to everyone who
believes, and it is to be proclaimed to all people.
The Mission of Evangelism
We believe God commands all people everywhere to repent and believe the gospel. The Church
is sent into the world to bear witness to Jesus Christ in word and deed, trusting God to save
sinners through the faithful proclamation of the gospel.
The Christian Life
We believe that those who are saved are called to be sanctified and live holy lives of faithful
service to God. This lifestyle and service should be marked by the fruits of the Spirit and good
works. Good works do not earn salvation but flow from it as evidence of genuine faith and as a
testimony to God’s transforming grace.
The Last Things
We believe Jesus Christ will personally and visibly return to judge the living and the dead. The
righteous will enter into everlasting life in the presence of God, enjoying the fullness of His
kingdom in the new heavens and new earth where righteousness dwells. The wicked will be
consigned to everlasting conscious torment and separation from God under the just wrath of
God.
